The ability to review, proofread, and edit court transcripts requires you to be fluent in English, have good communication skills, be flexible, have knowledge of technology, be focused, and have good listening skills. These traits and skills are beneficial because you must translate short hand stenography that is recorded by a court reporter and check it for errors before sending it back to the court reporter. Having a personality such as ISFJ (Introverted Sensing Feeling Judging) and ESFJ (Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging) can also be beneficial or necessary.

If you are interested in the field of scoping technology you can pursue a variety of careers. You can work your way up to being a court reporter, reporting assistant, scopist, or court clerk. Each of these career areas will require that you receive a higher education in order to pursue a professional career. The skills that are obtained through higher education will help you pursue the career you long for. In addition to obtaining proper training, you can succeed by utilizing your personality.
