Pursuing a career as a teacher or education professional requires that you have certain qualities and personal traits. Training can be completed if you have right characteristics and wish to work in general, secondary, adult, physical, music, or elementary education. The type of training that is necessary will depend on the career area and level of instruction. Training for a career in elementary education can take two to four years and will allow you to obtain an associate or bachelor degree. Coursework will depend on the specific career but may involve the study of reading, writing, child psychology, music, physical education, teaching methods, social skills, and special education. Once a higher education is obtained, you can enter into the career you desire. If you have a certain personality type you can pursue a successful career by utilizing your individual qualities. Personalities like ESTJ (Extraverted Sensing Thinking Judging), ESFJ (Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging), and ENFJ (Extraverted Intuitive Feeling Judging) have the characteristics and traits that are needed to pursue and maintain a professional teaching career.

In addition to a degree you will need to have certain qualities that can help you succeed. If you are personable, motivated, flexible, compassionate, knowledgeable, and have good work ethic, communication skills, and are able to work in teams can be successful at teaching. If you would like to teach at the secondary level or work with special needs individuals, or adults, you will need to complete coursework specific to your desired career. Once you have completed training, you can combine your learned skills with your personal qualities to be successful.
