Courses may include civil drafting, residential construction, drafting standards, commercial construction, mathematics, building design, building electrical and mechanical systems, architectural design, graphic design courses, mechanical design, computer applications, and critical thinking. With an education from a vocational program you will have the option to specialize in electrical drafting, aeronautical drafting, mechanical drafting, or architectural drafting.

Computer schools, colleges, and universities can train you to become an aeronautical drafter, architectural dafter, electrical drafter, mechanical drafter, and many other computer aided drafting related professions. An accredited degree will provide you with the skills to work in an architectural firm, construction company, civil engineering firm, environmental engineering firm, tool design company, government facility, or manufacturing company. The American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) provides memberships to students and graduates to assist in career information and employment and educational resources.
