Janet Schneider - Head of Languages, Brisbane High School

Janet Schneider is Head of Languages at Brisbane State High School, leading a team of 20+ across six languages. With 25 yearsโ€™ experience from Prep to Year 12, she specialises in relational pedagogy, curriculum design, and emotionally safe classrooms. A regular presenter at national and international conferences, Janet is passionate about empowering students and supporting teachers through reflective, collaborative practice built on trust and shared purpose.

Manon Poirier Ruaudel - Languages Teacher (French), Newington College

Originally from France, Manon brings six years of teaching experience and currently teaches French (Years 7โ€“9) and Spanish ab initio (Years 11โ€“12) at Newington College. Since moving to Australia two years ago, she has embraced new approaches to teaching and assessment, regularly using EdTech tools to enhance and evaluate student learning. Manon is passionate about making language learning fun, authentic, and meaningful through engaging, communication-rich classroom experiences.

Amanda Kennedy - Senior Italian Teacher, Kelvin Grove State College

Amanda Kennedy is a senior Italian teacher at Kelvin Grove State College, teaching Years 6โ€“11. Passionate about inclusive, student-centred learning, she uses Education Perfect to personalise lessons, build confidence, and support diverse learners. Amanda also leads sustainability initiatives and coordinates the Fri.Sa.Li Italian Exchange Program, offering students meaningful intercultural experiences.

Lale Arbabzadah - Languages Teacher, Newington College

Lale is a passionate language educator with over 10 years of experience teaching French and German to Years 7โ€“12. Based at Newington College, she is committed to creating student-centred learning experiences that go beyond the classroom, with a strong focus on improving student achievement and engagement in Languages. Lale has been actively collaborating with colleagues on assessment design using Education Perfect and is excited to explore how digital tools are shaping language education across different schools.

Maria Sabo - Learning Area Leader for Languages, Emmaus College

Maria has led the Languages department at Emmaus College for over 25 years, overseeing the Italian and German programs and coordinating international exchanges with partner schools in Europe. She is passionate about digital innovation and uses Education Perfect to differentiate learning, support formative assessment, and embed retrieval practice across Years 7โ€“12.
